East Surrey College Print Workshop
On Monday 9th June, Mr Tunbridge and Mrs Walton had the pleasure of taking our Year 10 Art students to a printmaking workshop at East Surrey College.
Led by Monica, the college’s expert printmaker, students learned how to use an etching press to create abstract prints. They designed stencils using newsprint, experimenting with positive and negative shapes to layer colourful, oil-based inks. The results were impressive, with a wide range of vibrant and creative prints produced
Our students represented the school brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed working with the large, professional printing presses.
After the workshop, we were treated to a guided tour of the college's current exhibitions – and were proud to spot some fantastic pieces by former MPS students on display!
Students will now be presenting the work into their sketchbooks as part of the GCSE course.
