Duke of Edinburgh
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the recent achievements of our students who took part in their DofE expeditions this term. Their determination, teamwork and resilience truly embody our school values.
53 Year 9 students successfully completed their Bronze Award expedition in the stunning Surrey Hills. Over the course of 2 days they navigated challenging routes and camped overnight, all while coping with warm and occasionally demanding weather. Every single student completed the expedition with enthusiasm and positivity, an incredible accomplishment!
12 Year 10 students tackled their Silver Award expedition in the New Forest. This more demanding challenge involved three days of walking and two nights of camping, all in the face of unpredictable and difficult weather conditions—heavy rain, strong winds and cold temperatures. Despite these hurdles, the students showed true grit and perseverance, completing the expedition with courage and composure.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an internationally recognised programme that empowers young people through a series of enriching experiences - volunteering, physical activity, skill development and expeditions. It helps students build confidence, develop essential life skills and grow into resilient, well-rounded individuals.
