Celebration Evening

On Thursday 20 October 2022, MPS hosted VIPs, students, parents and staff at our annual Celebration Evening.

This special night celebrates the outstanding effort and progress made by our students across all year groups and is a wonderful opportunity to honour hard work and dedication.

We had amazing piano pieces played by Hannah S and Isabella B from Year 8, and the Drama Club gave 2 spectacular performances from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  Thank you to Mrs Eckersall and her students: Ruby H, Gabriel, Eliza, Hannah S, Alfie W, Daisy, Florence, Jennifer, Paige B, Jasmine, Miriya, Freja, Marcelina and Nawal.

Every student was a winner and received a £5 Amazon gift voucher for every award won.  The  lucky students who walked away with £15 were Nanade in Year 8, Emily and Harrison  in Year 9 and Caitlin in Year 10.  Well done to you all.

Our guest speaker was Steven Reid who is a former Irish International footballer and has also played in the Premiership, for Millwall and Nottingham Forst to name just 2 clubs.  Steve spoke passionately about his career and was very open about his own mental health issues and students, parents and staff were all encouraged by his journey and his words of wisdom.

The evening culminated with our 3 most prestigious awards.  The Friends of MPS presented the Community Award to Bailey in Year 11 for his fundraising in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity.  Mr Garner presented the Mr Beard ‘Be Your Best’ Awards to 2 students in Year 11 who have consistently displayed all of our school values since they started at MPS in September 2018.  The very deserving winners of this award were Jessie and Max.

Congratulations to our winners.  MPS is extremely proud of you all.
