House System
At Merstham Park School, our house system plays a central role in school life and community spirit. Each house is made up of one Learning Mentor Group per year, creating close-knit communities across the school.
In Years 7-10, we have six houses:
Buckland
Earlswood
Gatton
Mercers
Nutfield
Priory
In Year 11, the house system continues with:
Gatton
Mercers
Nutfield
Priory
House competitions are a vibrant part of our calendar and take many different forms, from subject-based challenges in Art, Maths and Spelling, to sporting events and creative activities. This wide variety ensures that every student has the chance to showcase their strengths and talents. Success in competitions earns house points, which are added to those awarded daily. At the end of the academic year, the house with the highest total is crowned the winner of the prestigious House Cup.
More than just friendly rivalry, our houses foster a real sense of unity. Learning Mentors will quickly get to know the students in their LM Group, and older members of the house will also be there to guide and support. This community spirit helps every student feel part of something bigger, right from the very start of their secondary school journey.
