Year 10 Poetry-Slam Workshop
Year 10 French students recently took part in a lively virtual poetryâslam workshop with bilingual poet Michael Vidon, giving them the chance to explore how poetry can move between languages and creative styles.
Michael began by sharing how he develops his bilingual poems, explaining how ideas take shape and how switching between French and English can add rhythm, humour, and emotion.
Inspired by his approach, the group then wrote their own pieces. Many experimented with mixing languages, playing with sound, and expressing personal experiences. A number of students even chose to perform their poems for the class, showing real courage and creativity.
It was an engaging and uplifting session that encouraged students to think differently about language and expression. Well done to everyone involved!
