Ofsted

Press release photos sept 2026 2On 7th July 2026 the school was pleased to welcome a team from Ofsted for an inspection, and we are now able to share the outcome of that visit.

The report highlights year-on-year improvements across a range of measures and praises our staff and students for their achievements, with the percentage of pupils achieving a Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths GCSEs rising significantly in the 2024/25 academic year. Inspectors praised the targeted and measurable plans put in place by our headteacher and school leadership team.

The inspectors found that our students are "very proud of their school" and value its "tangible sense of community". One of the key areas picked out was pastoral support, which is described as “carefully coordinated to ensure that all pupils benefit”. The report goes on to say that pupils appreciate the care and attention that they receive should they have worries or concerns, so much so that the central pastoral office is seen as one of the “most important places in the school”.

The report states that students enjoy their learning, are supported to achieve, and teachers are praised for the “increasingly effective” way they check understanding during lessons.

Inspectors also noted that our students highly appreciate the school's "verdant outdoor spaces" offering plenty of shade in hot weather. The school’s “engaging school productions”, which bring learning to life, were also highlighted as an example of the range of activities and opportunities for students to enjoy their time at the school.

Press release photos sept 2026 7Cullum Mitchell, our Headteacher, said: “Along with our record-breaking academic results, I am also delighted that the strong sense of community and the support we offer all our students have been clearly recognised. It was great to see the inspectors also highlight the extensive range of activities, clubs and sport we offer, which are so important in providing an all-round education. I’d like to thank all our staff whose dedication is the foundation of our success and to the students for their hard work as well as their commitment to the wonderful supportive culture we all enjoy at our school.”

Many thanks as well to our parents and carers for your continued support in our drive to ensure MPS provides the best possible education for your children.

We are delighted with the result of this inspection and the really positive comments that can be found in the report.  If you would like to read the full report, please click on the  link below.
