Year 10 Art visit to Tate Modern

On Monday 21 March 2022, Mrs Harkness, Mr Tunbridge and Miss Gibbons took the Year 10 Art students to the Tate Modern as part of their Art coursework.

The students were introduced to a number of historical and contemporary Artworks in the gallery space including sculptures, installations, paintings, photographs, and films.

They interacted with Artworks using their senses such as sight, sound, and touch. Some of the Artworks the students found hard to understand, until they read about the piece and could make a connection.

The students created drawings and studies in the gallery space to form a part of their coursework exploration, and contextual links.

The students had a great day and were a credit to Merstham Park school.
