GLF host two virtual 'Get Into Teaching' events in March 25
GLF Teacher Training are well underway with their recruitment of next year’s trainee teacher cohort and will be holding two online recruitment events in the next few weeks for anyone interested in learning more about a career in teaching.
Having secured a record 51 trainee teachers for 24/25, Jen Hammond, Deputy Director of Teaching School Hub, commented: “With such a successful recruitment drive last year, we are keen to try and at least equal these numbers for 25/26, to support the training and development of future teachers. As such, we are keen to reach out to the wider GLF Schools community of parents, carers, ex-pupils and supporters in order to do so. Teaching is a career which is well-suited to many, our current cohort sees graduate university leavers, parents with school-aged children, highly skilled career changers, as well as people who have taken time out of the paid workforce to care for small children”.
These virtual events will be held via ZOOM, enabling people to join from the comfort of home, the first being on Monday 24th March and the second on Saturday 29th March for the convenience of people who work in the week. “There are lots of different routes into teaching, and we look forward to speaking with a range of potential trainees to discuss the best route for them” explains Mrs Hammond.
With trainees from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experience GLF Teacher Training are committed to diversity, and are also committed to providing long-term career prospects to their trainees, with GLF Schools pledging to employ trainee teachers successful completing their initial training with GLF Teacher Training into their schools, wherever possible. “With a network of 50+ GLF and partner schools behind us, we are very excited about the prospects for our future trainees” adds Mrs Hammond.
