GCSE Exam Success for MPS
Here at Merstham Park School we have been celebrating an excellent set of results today.
Our school, which opened its doors in September 2018, saw our GCSE cohort achieve some impressive results, with 63% of students attaining a grade 9 to 4 in English and Maths (a 10% improvement on last year), and 36% receiving a grade 9 to 5 in those subjects.
The top-performing student at the school, Caitlin Smith, was awarded eight grade 9s and two grade 8s, closely followed by Gabrielle Ayres achieving seven grade 9s and two grade 8s. In addition to this, four students achieved at least 2 grades higher than their target grades, in every subject they entered.
Within Drama and Photography, 83% of Merstham Park students achieved a grade 4 or above, and 79% achieved this feat in Art. Students also excelled in Science subjects, with 100% obtaining a grade 4 or above and 84% a grade 5 or above in Biology, while, in Physics, 96% attained grade 4 or above and 80% grade 5 or higher, and, in Chemistry, 92% of students were awarded a grade 4 or higher, and 80% a grade 5 or above.
