Year 10 visit Tate Modern
Mrs Harkness, Mrs Walton and Mr Tunbridge recently had the pleasure of taking our Year 10 artists on a trip to the Tate Modern in London.
From iconic masterpieces to cutting-edge installations, our students had the opportunity to engage with an array of thought-provoking artworks. Encounters with works by renowned figures such as Picasso, Warhol and Hockney sparked lively discussions and ignited the imagination of our budding artists.
The trip proved to be inspirational for our Year 10 students, as they eagerly sketched and observed the artworks on display. Armed with sketchbooks and pencils, they ventured through the galleries, capturing the essence of each piece through their own unique interpretations. From abstract compositions to detailed portraits, the students' drawings reflected their keen observation skills and artistic sensibilities.
Beyond practising their drawing techniques, the trip encouraged students to explore new forms of artistic expression and push the boundaries of their creativity. We are immensely proud of our Year 10 students for their enthusiastic participation and dedication during the trip to Tate Modern Gallery. Their commitment to engaging with art in all its forms is a testament to their passion for creativity and their willingness to explore new ideas and perspectives.
This work will form a part of their GCSE coursework and we look forward to seeing the work that they create, which will have been inspired by their visit.
